Anastasia Kravets is a photographer working primarily in fashion and beauty, a practice she has been building for the past six years. Originally from Ukraine, she began by photographing local brands after finishing high school. At the same time, she studied marketing, pursuing photography as a passion alongside her studies. That passion eventually grew into a full-time profession.
She has been working at Contact for three months now. One of the things she values most about the space is being surrounded by other creative people who are following their passions. She is inspired by the fact that it is not a culture driven by hustle or high achievement, but instead one where people continue making art, no matter what.
At the moment, Anastasia and Lucille are in the process of launching their own photo studio. Anastasia has also been focused on building her social media presence and personal brand, something she has come to realize is especially important for freelancers. She is also preparing a product photography workshop for her students.
Something that she finds a source of inspiration is interior design, especially the way designers combine colour and texture in creative ways. She is also deeply inspiration by Ukrainian fashion photographers and brands who continue to pursue their work and create beauty in the midst of war and crisis. Their determination to keep doing what they love despite horrific circumstances is incredibly inspiring.
One of her favourite projects was a shoot for a young jewelry designer, which was later published in Forbes. The shoot was a collaboration with a small team, and having that kind of recognition felt like a meaningful sign that she is moving in the right direction.
