Sam Aronson (Glass Half Full of What) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work mainly with writing, performance, and 3D printing. While he has always been drawn to creative pursuits, he did not fully embrace them as a career until friends pointed out how much joy he found in making things—and how much joy his creations brought to others. In 2020, writing riddles with friends deepened his appreciation for language, and the magic and complexity of words, sparking a newfound love for writing, particularly poetry.
Sam has been at Contact for a year now and, loves being a part of the community. Having a space filled with all types of creatives gives him inspiration, whether through conversations, collaborations, or simply observing the work happening around him. It is a place where he can ask questions, learn from experts, and stay connected to the wider creative scene in the city. He also values have a studio space of his own to work in and access to various machines and equipment.
Currently, he is focused on mastering 3D printing, learning Ableton for electronic music production, participating in theatre productions (on and off stage), and refining his writing craft. His inspirations typically come from life itself—people, relationships, and the experiences that everyone goes through.
One piece that holds special meaning for him is a poem called Disanything, the first poem he wrote as an adult. It was a turning point, the moment he realized that poetry has no rules, but endless possibilities. Writing this, helped him discover his love for poetry and he has written many more since this first one.
